About Chromium Metal Consortium

The Chromium Metal Consortium is an informal structure working under an established legal Agreement.

Following the closure of the pre-registration period for phase-in substances, on 1st December 2008, the Chromium Metal Consortium is in the process of finalising its registration strategy.

The strategy includes assessing the registration status and the registration requirements, where appropriate, for the substances covered by the Agreement (see substance lists for more details).

Opportunities for exemptions from registration are being reviewed, hazard classifications are under assessment, and data for registration dossiers are being compiled.
